Not getting Whatsapp messages until I open the app

0

Anyone had this problem?

I don’t receive Whatsapp messages until I open the app.
I’m not talking about notifications. The person who sends me a message gets only one checkmark (and I don’t receive the message), until I open the app - only then they get the second checkmark and I receive the messages
This happens only in Whatsapp. All other apps behave normally…
Settings > Notification and status bar > Manage app notifications > Whatsapp > Allow notification is enabled.
Settings > Battery > Power mode > Performance is checked (also tried Balance)
In Security app > Power > Standby management > Whatsapp is enabled
I tried removing and installing Whatsapp - didn’t help.
I tried upgrading to Flyme Flyme 5.1.6.0G - same problem.

Meizu MX5
Android 5.1
Flyme 5.1.6.0G

I contacted Whatsapp and they gave me stupid answers.

Thanks!

@Alaa-Masalha It’s a known bug, all you can is to try the following guides:

1.) Try this guide
2.) This other guide (you will need root and TB)
3.) Not sure If this one works, but worth a try
4.) This is a pretty recent one (You will need a Custom Recovery)

I hope that help solve the problem

@Asiier Thanks! Is it a known bug in Meizu or in Whatsapp in general?

This problem has been annoyed me few months, finally I got the solution.

Root your phone, install “Titanium”, free the system app so called “security”, after that your whatsapp work like charm !

Having problem with Whatsapp and that`s my biggest concern…
Most of the time I need to open whatsapp to receive whatsapp messages.
I tried method 1 but not working.
Method 2 is working but the Chinese version Music offline radio is missing after changing the build.prop from CH to EN…
I loved the offline radio so I wish to keep it too…
Method 3 n 4 should be not necessary to me as I wanted to fix my Whsatapp n I don’t bother about push notification for gmail n etc…

@bryanling reinstalling whatsapp though! Is a must after removing the security center.

And you should not have a battery indication without the security center. Meizu doesn’t use the given Android features what are proven to work, sadly :(

@ronald_loulan It’s just a huge bug that Flyme has
You can follow guide 2 but not changing the build.prop, just freeze or uninstall Security which is the app that messed up everything

Yea,i know the culprit was the Security App all along…
But what’s the downside of disabling the Security app??
I heard the battery percentage will be missing and perhaps the balance power mode will stop too, right??

@ronald_loulan If you still want apps to auto close, install Xposed and search for Power Nap, that module will do the exact same but without messing your notifications
You can also try Doze is not the same principle but it will help with your battery usage

BTW u just tried to uninstall Security app using Titanium Backup but it auto install after i reboot.
During reboot it show updating apps likely installing the security centre…
Now i try to freeze the Security centre with TB,
Hopefully is working now…

@ronald_loulan You have to convert it to a User app and then you can uninstall it
For that, I recommend you this app
