[GUIDE] How to get the Notifications working on Flyme 5

A little guide how to get the Notifications on Flyme 5 (Tested on MX4 Pro)

  1. Download the latest test firmware from our firmware server:
    https://meizufans.eu/firmwares/

  2. You need to Wipe your Phone completly that means:

  • Go to Settings and Wipe the Internal Storage .
  • Clear the Data.
  1. Update the Firmware:
  • Put the downloaded update.zip to the Root of your PhoneMemory and shut the Phone down.
  • Power the Phone up while holding Volume Up.
  • Select Update and Clear Data.
  1. How to get the Notifications working
  • First Root your Phone (Settings, Fingerprint/Security, Root permission)

  • After the restart install all Apps you wanna use and this App:
    Notofications Fixer
Go to the app and enable it, give it root permission, your phone has to restart.

  • After the restart go to the SecurityCenter, Power, Customize mode and make those Settings:

  • CPU Performance Balanced

  • Bluetooth Enabled (if needed)

  • GPS Enabled (if needed)

  • NFC Enabled (if needed)

  • Smart brightness Disabled

  • Dynamic translucency Enabled

  • System auto sync Enabled

  • And enable the Customize mode.

  1. Whitelisting the Apps:
  • Go to Security, Accelerator, Cogwheel in the upper right corner.
  • Memory acceleration whitelist.
  • Now enable all Apps you need and all Google services, also the PNF Root, NetContactService.

Thats all, i think the Guide should also work with other Meizu Phones but i tested it only on the MX4 Pro.

I don’t know why we have to make so many tricks and Meizu still insists on not fixing the bugs, it is really annoying. Anyway; thank you for the details.

If this just dont work, the solution I found is to install via recovery the google apps downloading them from the opengapps webpage, I just have no problem with the notifications and I didnt do anything else, I just install the PICO package of the google apps and let whatsapp, messenger, yahoo messenger, etc run in the background via meizu security app and thats it.

Of course you need to be root to be able to install the gapps via recovery.

Hope this info works for you guys ;)

@Fernando-Mendoza you are so right!!! same for me 😉
there is no notification bug in the Meizu firmware. The Google installer from the Meizu appstore bring the problem’s. In the last beta versions everything works like a charm.

Hi,

How do you do an install by recovery ?

I must have twrp ?

Yes you need Custom Recovery to flash a .ZIP file.

@AndiRoid77 Hello, please could you tell me the procedure to install twrp? I tried some one but without success. What is your flume version? I tried with last one flume 5.6.4.19-beta.

Thank you very much

Meizu MX4 Pro

@guardastelle Hi, i have no Custom Recovery on my Device. I use the New Miui Google Installer V2 to install my Gapps.

Klick

@Fernando-Mendoza how did u manage to install it via recovery? Como lo instalaste mediante recovery? A mi solo me sale dos opciones (upgrade y clear data).
Pls help me!

Meizu MX4 Pro

@vicscloud I have noticed that it does not work with any beta
U can try a fresh install with 5.6.3.8a. (I clear everything)
Test it by installing Whatsapp from the Meizu Apstore check Autorun and Power Permission.
U can Setup the FlymeAccount and Sync.
For me it works fine in this beta.
Next install the Gapps with MiuiGoogle installer.
(No need to push the Red Button after install just close the APP)
Setup the GoogleAccount and Sync.
If it wont Work, delete Account a d Clear Data of PlaystoreApp and try Again.
Leave the phone for a while and Check the Notification again.
Now u can Update the Phone by Using UpdateApp.
(without clear Data)
Notifications will continue to function.

Good luck.

All u have to do is to root your phone, I use Kongroot app vers 4.85. After that just disable “Security App” and thats it. U will have yours notifications no problem.
